OMG!!! *tearing...crying...heart strings pulled* That was one of the most heart moving stories that I've had the honor to read. AWESOME JOB!!! I going to read the sequel now. I'm sad Max & Alec didn't end up together, but moved by her sacrifice for love.

Awww, that was so sweet. And so f'ing sad. Really well done.
On the characterisation, Max's inner voice sounds true to herself. And poor thing. Giving up Alec can not have been an easy thing. But it's just the thing she would do, isn't it? She always takes it upon herself to make sure others are okay.

Awww, this was such a sweet and sad story. I loved how you wrote everyone in it, as well as how you told it from Max's point of view. And I thought it was nice how you wrote about Max doing something for Alec. I have read and seen a lot of fiction about Alec doing something for Max, that's usually what it always is, so this was a nice change. Personally, I'd like to read more about this whole story in more detail, but that's just me. Anways, great job!
Author's Response: *hugs* Thanks, Jade! The closest you get to 'more' on this story is the sequel, Deceptions. It gives a little more background to the what and why of Max's actions :) But I know you're not much of an M/A 'shipper so it might not be to your taste :P
In any case, thank you for reviewing this :) It is one of my personal favorite one-shots and it always makes me smile to hear that others liked it. :D

Yeah, finally doing something for Alec. Sad how she'd do so much for so many, but when it came to Alec it was like she just couldn't see a reason to see the good things in him... I hated that about the show. I mean, Alec's not perfect, but he's a good guy, and Max ain't no angel herself. *shrug* My muse and I teamed up to give Alec a shot at happiness. Little did I know that she planned to really screw with it later by pushing me into a rather depressing and angsty sequel...
