Wow, this was great! I love the idea of the story. If Rachel is dead or alive; you made it believable so far. Alec's reaction towards Berishord was wonderfully described, he was very in character. And of course Max' first reaction would be that he's leaving. I loved the Max-Alec interaction in the show and in your story - of all kind; big, small, friendship, love, soldiers. And I look forward to some Alec - Berrishord interaction (both father and daughter). Great great start. I'll watch out for the next chapter:)

Ouch. You do these spats with them amazingly well, you know that?
I am guessing this one's not complete? Although it could be. I mean, I like it hanging and open like this. First the shock, and the disbelief, and the hope. And then there's the anger. And then it's goodbye. And it's what would drive him away, of course.
Hope Max is wrong.
Anyway, nice job.
