Aw, heart-warming little Christmas tale.
The cake part was particularly hilarious. Alec was right in his musings though, he's very well trained in so many regards, but still baking gets the better of him. LOL Yet, I'll grant him benefit of the doubt because it's been his first real Chrsitmas - and something tells me, there'd not been much in ways of an occasion for preparing or decorating cakes in Manticore...
Great to read he finally succeeded in making Max smile again.

It's a lovely plotline, and I can see the idea you were working on.
However, I do have some comments if you don't mind. I think the story would benefit from some additional polishing. Both in the text as well as the layout. I won't go into detail here, but if you like I can give them to you in a private message?
Again, lovely storyidea. I just think it could be even better with some small tweaks.
