Very good job for your first time around!  Just one major correction that needs to be made: :"waste" should be "waist".  Other than that, I loved it.  Very sweet and fluffy with just a hint of angst.  Very well done.

I think you did a really good job getting their voices right. And it was a sweet story. So this was still Valentine's Day? The same one he gave her the gifts? I'm guessing she reacted the way she had seeing him, because she was angry about his leaving and was to shocked to react any other way? I hope you feel inspired to write more sometime. Thank you for sharing this.
