I've read this story in its entirety on one of the other websites (I think Nuns With Pens), and loved it! The plot is compelling, the character development is in depth and consistent throughout, and the added bonus of smut scenes is really wonderful (you have a great knack for the smut). Your portrayal of Max as still slightly selfish even when what she's sacrificing to take care of Alec is so unselfish provided a realisitc balance to her character - I mean no one can be all good or all bad. And the glimpses we get into how haunted Alec is by his experience and how that re-shapes his personality a little bit was written well - an informative glimpse into the character without too much of the scary gory detail of the torture. Great job!

i really loved this story. especially the part where logan is talking to alec and he doesn't know that alec can hear him. your an awesome writer. i've read some of your stories at nuns with pens and loved those too. keep up the awesome work

Ferg! *hugs tight* Dunno if and when you'll see this review, but I wanted to tell you - again (I've said this before, surely!) - that I absolutely adore this story. Okay, maybe adore isn't the greatest choice of word...allow me to amend my comment and say that Sensual Healing is one of my absolute favourite fics, ever.
From the subject matter to the delivery, you had me riveted. This was a deeply emotional exploration of a condition and healing process and the relationship that developed alongside it all. Amazingly well written, provoking and a real tear-jerker, you had me lauging, crying and yelling (in my head - I'm not THAT crazy) all over the place for any number of reasons.
I think that it took tremendous strength on both parts for Max and Alec to reach the point they did by the end of the story. Alec's ability to forgive, Max's intent to keep trying... the dedication of both parties and the love and caring of their friends jumped out at me from every page.
I'm still awed that you tackled such a tough topic and not only pulled it off, but made it look easy. You've got real talent, hon! Thank you for sharing with the masses.

I just found and read this entire story last night and today and you have me totally addicted. I'm new here and don't really know the way everything works so I wasn't sure if I was supposed to reply after every chapter or if it was ok for me to read it all and then reply so I hope I did ok. I just wanted to let you know that I'm loving this story as you could probably tell because I haven't been able to stop reading it. I can't wait to see what happens when they raid Whites compound. I'm so glad I found this story and I can't wait read the next chapter so I hope your muse is inspiring you plenty.

You're being very brave, writing this story - and I commend you for taking a dark topic and doing it well.
Can't say whether I *like* it, seeing as emotional and mental anguish isn't really a comedy moment; but it's certainly gripping.
And your frequent updates are definitely a good thing :P
