Very imaginative and entertaining story.

No surprise at all that Max' words (which you correctly chose not to reveal IMHO) obviously hit home with Alec; there's so much more to him than his "I'm always fine" bravado. The fact that Cindy actually saw through the act in the end and took pity on him, was great.

I loved your description about Biggs and Alec's buddy relation in particular. That and the banter.
