That was pretty darn angsty. I feel bad for Alec. He's under a lot of strain, misery and anger and that mindset makes you do the unthinkable. We already know he likes kids given how much time he spends with Gem's kid, so it would be a natural subconscious reaction I guess to want to be near his child given that children are innocent of betrayal. Pity, he has such massive trust issues with Max, and well, with her behaviour, it's not hard to see why he would. Hopefully she doesn't fight fire with fire and try and attack him in return.
