Ames was the one who had to live through it and he was either winning or losing, or both. 

Max runs into Asha as she crosses the border into Canada, searching for Ames White. Asha tags along for a while, but when it’s time for them to split up she has a thing or two to say. 

Normal shouldn’t care about him the way he does. But yet, finding out he’s one of those things, he realizes what’s most important. That Alec is not a freak, not a monster, he’s someone who Normal can’t seem to let go of no matter how hard he tries.

Takes place right after Love Among The Runes.  This is kind of AU since it doesn't match back up with FN, but ask me if I care.

A/N:  I had to take a brief break from 'In the Heat of Battle' to write this piece.  The bullet hole challenge just wouldn't leave me alone, so here's my answer.  Okay, so it's not really humour, but how about some smut instead?
